영어 모임 주제 3주차

If you are to publish a book, what would you write about?


1. Compulsive reading
직역하면 강박적인 reading 이라는 뜻으로 
'so interesting that you can't stop reading'
'너무 흥미로워서 읽는 것을 멈출 수가 없다' 

 ex) Many people find articles about the private lives of film stars compulsive reading 

사람들은 영화 배우들의 사적 인생에 대한 기사들을 멈출 수 없는 재밌는 읽을 거리라고 생각한다.



2. beautifully written 

= 정말 환상적이게 쓰여진 것? 

The book is beautifully written, I highly recommend it!
저 책 진짜 잘 써진 책이야. 강추!! 

 
3. Flick / skim through a book
대충 훑어 보다, 빠르게 넘겨 보다 

Mona flicked throught the book without reading it in detail 

모나는 그 책을 자세히 읽어 보지 않고 대충 훑어 보았다.


4. an easy read 

쉽게 읽히는 것 

Detective stories are good for train journeys as they're an easy read 

탐정 이야기는 잘 읽히는 내용이기 때문에 기차 여행할 때 읽기 좋다.


5. be engrossed / absorbed in a book 

책에 푹 빠지다 

Sarah was so engrossed in her book that she didn't hear me 

사라는 책에 엄청 빠져서 내가 하는 말을 듣지 못했다
